Employers Pledge to Take “Time to Change” Mental Health in the Workplace

Unilever, Rolls Royce, Standard Life, HSBC and Network Rail are just a handful of the more than 350 businesses in the U.K. that have signed the Time to Change pledge. The pledge, part of the Time to Change movement led by mental health nonprofits Mindand Rethink Mental Illness, seeks to get the entire nation talking about mental health with an ultimate goal of ending mental health discrimination.

U.S. Chamber Foundation and Partners to Convene Leaders in Mexico City for Women’s Economic Empowerment Event

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USCCF), in conjunction with the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico and WEConnect International, will host a two-day event to explore how the private sector can empower women through initiatives to promote entrepreneurship, supply chain diversity, and workforce development. Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment in Mexico: Exploring Opportunities for Private Sector Engagement and Impact is supported by Walmart, EY, Dell, Reserveage Organics, Accenture, and McLarty Associates.

Republic Earns High Marks on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index

Republic Services, Inc. (NYSE: RSG) earned a score of 80 out of 100 on the 2016 Corporate Equality Index, a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) workplace equality. The Human Rights Campaign Foundation administers the annual scorecard. This was the first year Republic participated with the Corporate Equality Index.

Antea Group Case Study: EHS Auditing for a Big-Box Retailer

An international “big box” retailer lacked clarity of the environmental, health and safety risks in several of their non-retail business units. These businesses included a meat processing facility, a print shop, an optical manufacturing facility, and several distribution centers. These businesses presented unique risks that were unfamiliar to their safety team, whose expertise focused on minimizing retail risks. Their first priorities were to understand the risks that were present, baseline the level of compliance, and establish an audit protocol that could be used by an internal audit team in the future.

Fox Announces 10 Finalists for Diverse Writers Program, Partners with Young Storytellers

On February 3, Fox announced the 10 screenwriters and writing teams selected for the fifth annual Fox Writers Intensive (FWI), a competitive fellowship at the Fox Studios Lot in Los Angeles designed to nurture experienced writers with diverse voices, backgrounds, and life experiences. The finalists were chosen from more than 500 nominations and submissions, the largest applicant pool in the program's history, and this year, they will team with the Young Storytellers to mentor elementary school students interested in writing. At the conclusion of the program, each of the finalists is considered for staffing on Fox television, feature film, and digital entertainment productions.
