From edible gardens solving for food insecurity to green schoolyards providing natural places for children to learn and grow, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation supports all types of community-driven garden projects, especially programs that benefit young children.

The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation and Union County Foundation Announce New Garden and Greenspace Fund to Benefit Union County
The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation announced the creation of its Hometown Community Garden and Greenspace Grant Fund with The Union County Foundation. The fund was opened to mark the 150th anniversary of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company and to further support the development of thriving gardens and greenspaces in its backyard of Marysville, Ohio.

ScottsMiracle-Gro Associates Garden for Health and the Community
Associates at the ScottsMiracle-Gro headquarters in Marysville, Ohio, gather each year to plant row upon row of raised-bed gardens on company grounds. Then, from spring through fall, they volunteer to nurture the gardens, watering, weeding and harvesting them weekly with an eye toward serving the greater good. The produce is delivered to the Marysville Food Pantry to help feed about 75 families and more than 1,200 people weekly.

GRO1000 Milestone Reached: Thousandth Garden to Connect Children With Benefits of Nature
Eight years ago, we set a goal to help create 1,000 community gardens and greenspaces and connect more people to the life-enhancing benefits of gardens and greenspaces. This May, we’ll realize that goal with the dedication of the thousandth GRO1000 garden in Columbus, Ohio.
