by Lindsay LaSala, Community and Foundation Relations Manager, ScottsMiracle-Gro
At ScottsMiracle-Gro, our roots run deep. This year, we’re celebrating the 150th anniversary of our company, and we contribute a big part of our success to the local community in Marysville, Ohio, who’s helped us grow over the years. That’s why we’re honored to partner with The Union County Foundation to provide more resources for garden and greenspace development in our own corporate backyard of Union County, Ohio.
On August 20, we announced the launch of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation Hometown Community Garden and Greenspace Grant Fund. This fund, housed at The Union County Foundation, will support all types of community-driven greenscape projects, including:
- community gardens
- school gardens
- athletic field refurbishments
- beautification efforts
- park restorations
- natural playscapes
- pollinator habitats
- container gardens
- and more
The fund was opened to mark the 150th anniversary of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company and to further support the development of thriving gardens and greenspaces near our hometown of Marysville, Ohio. The fund is part of our Foundation’s ongoing commitment to bring the life-enhancing benefits of gardens and greenspaces to more people and more communities.
