Four student teams from around the world are regional winners in Otis’ Made to Move Communities student challenge. These winning teams will go on to compete in Otis’ first global competition.

SEATTLE, June 20, 2017 /3BL Media/ – The 2017 Points of Light Conference on Volunteering and Service has kicked off in Seattle. The gathering brings together more thank 2,000 civic leaders from all sectors and from 23 countries, including the United States, to spark new ideas, collaborations and citizen engagement.
Today my school looks drastically different than it did at the beginning of the school year, and that is thanks to the more than 400 members of the Comcast NBCUniversal family, including dozens from their nonprofit partner City Year, who joined us on our campus in April for Comcast Cares Day. The volunteers made change happen by painting bright and colorful murals throughout the school that focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and college preparedness. The physical transformation of the school has inspired our students, where 80 percent of them are eligible for free or reduced lunch, to believe that each and every one can and will be ready for a college career when they graduate.
A 100-year-old Kalamazoo woman who Consumers Energy honored with the statewide Senior Citizen of the Year award appeared on “The Lori Moore Show” on WWMT-TV(Kalamazoo), as well as Whitney Skeans, the Company’s customer assistance manager. Consumers Energy is an Older Michiganians Day sponsor and a Senior Citizen of the Year award partner.
As part of AEG’s community outreach initiative with Pasadena Unified School District in conjunction with conjunction with Arroyo Seco Weekend at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., AEG and Goldenvoice worked with more than 250 high school students in the Pasadena area to provide opportunities to learn about the entertainment industry. Students were exposed to the company’s many facets of the sports and entertainment industry, received advice on future career paths and were provided exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the music and art festival.
