How You Can Be Part of the Fair Trade Difference

Fair Trade USA, a nonprofit organization and leading certifier of Fair Trade products, has released a powerful 5-minute documentary video to kick off its new Fair Trade Difference campaign and pledge drive. The purpose of the video and two-week campaign is to tell the story of Fair Trade in full color, and to inspire commitment to shopping Fair Trade by signing a pledge. As a whole, the Fair Trade Difference is an invitation to peer behind the seal; a guided tour into lives and communities across the world impacted by production and purchase of Fair Trade products; and a call to people to care about a simple way to make an immediate, long-lasting difference in the world.

First Annual Stephen R. Kellert Biophilic Design Award Goes to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital

The International Living Future Institute (ILFI), in partnership with Interface, honored the late scholar and Yale University social ecologist Stephen R. Kellert’s legacy with the first ever, Biophilic Design Award at the Greenbuild Expo in Boston. The award was presented to CPG Consultants Pte Ltd, Senior Vice President Ong Chin-Po, Jerry and Alexandra Health System, Director Donald Wai Wing Tai for Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Singapore, in recognition of the innovative and extensive use of biophilic design to engage all of the senses to promote healing and wellbeing.

T. Rowe Price Associates Assemble More Than 14,000 Care Packages for Service Members Ahead of Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a time to recognize the contributions of military service members, past and present. To celebrate Veterans Day, T. Rowe Price partnered with the United Service Organizations (USO) to bring a touch of home to service members in remote areas around the world. Nearly 1,000 associates across T. Rowe Price’s U.S. offices volunteered to create more than 14,000 care packages for service members.

Whole Cities Foundation Awards 44 Community First Grants to Increase Healthy Food Access in Local Communities Across the U.S.

Today, Whole Cities Foundation, an independent nonprofit foundation established by Whole Foods Market, announced 44 new Community First Grant recipients. Now in its second year, the Community First Grant Program aims to support partnerships between Whole Foods Market Team Members and locally led, fresh food access projects.

Easing Military Deployments with Technology & Volunteerism

Earlier this month, I joined a team of Dell volunteers from sales and the Dell Veterans and Supporters Employee Resource Group to support UTR and their “40 Million Stories” Campaign. By manning the UTR recording studio at the recent Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Exposition in Washington, D.C., we were able to see first-hand how UTR records soldiers reading bedtime stories out-loud for their children to listen to while they’re away.
