UPS Mobilizes Global Logistics Network for Hurricane Matthew with $1 Million in Financial and In-Kind Support

The UPS Foundation, which leads the global citizenship programs for UPS (NYSE: UPS), today announced more than USD $1 million in emergency funding and in-kind support to help response and recovery efforts following the destructive hurricane that recently ravaged Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. The UPS Foundation contributions of logistics support will enable the provision of urgent relief efforts.

A Chilean team has won the first-ever $100,000 Ray C. Anderson Foundation “Ray of Hope” Prize in the Biomimicry Global Design Challenge, an international design competition and accelerator program that crowdsources nature-inspired solutions to big sustainability challenges, such as climate change, food system issues, water management, and alternative energy.

In celebration of Pro Bono Week, Taproot Foundation is releasing key findings from the 2016 State of Pro Bono Service Survey. Results show that 95% of surveyed nonprofit professionals report that pro bono service improved their organization's effectiveness. In addition, almost 90% of respondents say they will use pro bono service in the coming year. Services most sought after were in marketing, design, technology, and strategy.
