Yum! Global Newsroom: Community
In recognition of the Government of India’s national level campaign Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Yum! Restaurants India recently launched its Swachh SwaYUM initiative, a cleanliness drive across India. Over 10,000 KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell employees mobilized across 81 cities to clean areas around 400 restaurants as part of the Swachh SwaYUM initiative. The tremendous effort has resulted in Yum! India’s employees and franchisees cleaning over 400 km in the country.
Commenting on the initiative Niren Chaudhary, President, Yum! Restaurants India said, “At Yum! India, our mission is Growth with a ‘Big’ Heart because we want to grow our business, our people and the communities that we are a part of. The Swachh SwaYUM campaign is an initiative to contribute and give back to the community in which we operate and with the help of our 10,000 employees, we were able to spread awareness and clean over 400 kms. We are proud to see each of our employees take up the pledge to make their contribution towards a cleaner India. This is our contribution to Prime Minister’s vision of a Clean India by 2nd October 2019.”
Yum! India is dedicated to the Clean India vision and has partnered with NGO FORCE to adopt a village and create sanitation and hygiene awareness within the community. Yum! India will also conduct a cleanliness drive twice a year as a part of Swachh SwaYUM’s ongoing commitment.
