On June 16, 8:30am, over 200 Amway and community volunteers descended upon the Steepletown neighborhood on Grand Rapids’ northwest side. Their goal? To bring something that had been missing from the area for quite some time – a playground.

India’s Amway Opportunity Foundation Receives Top CSR Leadership Award
Since 1999, the Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF) in India has dedicated many of its CSR efforts to the domain of the visually challenged. This past week in a ceremony held at Taj Land End, Mumbai, AOF received an ABP News – CSR Leadership Award in the category of “‘Support and Improvement in the Quality of Education.” The event was organized by World CSR Day.

Amway Japan Receives Prestigious National Philanthropy Award
In March 2011, Japan was rocked to the core when the Great Eastern Earthquake destroyed entire communities – leaving many dead and others with nowhere to go. In 2012, Amway Japan established “Remember HOPE” a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) effort aimed at supporting the reconstruction of the disaster-affected communities and delivering hope to residents.

#GoodNews: First Braille Library Opens in Guwahati with 200 Books
The first library for visually-impaired students was set up in Guwahati at the Blind High School on Wednesday. The library offers the braille versions of a variety of academic books and journals, self-help, general knowledge books, which students otherwise find hard to procure, as reported by The Tribune
