Arby’s Foundation Honored by Share Our Strength with Prestigious Great Oak Award
Share Our Strength recognizes the work and partnership of the Arby’s Foundation in their work and mission to end childhood hunger in America.
At the ninth annual Give Me Five dinner, a Share Our Strength culinary event held in Atlanta, the Arby’s Foundation received the highly-esteemed Great Oak Award for their commitment to ending childhood hunger in America. Share Our Strength’s President, Tom Nelson, presented the award to Paul Brown, CEO, Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. The Great Oak Award honors exceptional and steadfast partners that assist Share Our Strength in battling childhood hunger. It has only been given five times in the non-profit’s 31 year history.
“It’s a great honor to accept the Great Oak Award on behalf of the Arby’s Foundation,” said Paul Brown, CEO, Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. “We are proud of our partnership with Share Our Strength and our work to ensure that generations to come have the food they need to reach their full potential.”
Since 2011, Arby’s has contributed more than $12.4 million to Share Our Strength and their No Kid Hungry campaign, helping to further the impact Arby’s has made in ending childhood hunger. Nationally, in partnership with the No Kid Hungry campaign, these funds have helped connect kids struggling with hunger with more than 345 million additional meals.
“We are pleased to recognize the Arby’s Foundation for their tremendous support of innovative solutions to eradicate childhood hunger in America,” said Tom Nelson, President, Share Our Strength. “Recipients have seeded an investment that has spurred exponential organizational growth resulting in enduring impact for countless individuals and communities. The Arby’s Foundation has done and continues to do just that.”
The Arby’s Foundation aims to make even more progress over the next month as they host the annual National Restaurant Fundraiser. The Fundraiser is a six-week, in-store program encouraging guests to donate in support of the Arby’s Foundation and its mission to end childhood hunger in America, in partnership with No Kid Hungry. A $1 donation can provide up to 10 nutritious meals for children in need.
