Grant Recipients Leverage Funds for Humanitarian Programs

(3BL Media) Alexandria, VA - July 10, 2012 - In 2011, Global Impact announced the creation of its Accelerator Fund, a $600,000 matching fund for internationally focused humanitarian charities. The Accelerator Fund is designed to assist charitable organizations launch or expand fundraising initiatives and programs that address or meet human needs and create sustainable change. Global Impact is pleased to announce the following recipients of Accelerator Fund grants in 2012:

The Accelerator Fund demonstrates the commitment of Global Impact to achieve its mission of assuring help for the world’s most vulnerable people. With a 7:1 leverage target, recipients are required to demonstrate significant fundraising results and encourage partnerships that enable exponential growth. This year, thirty-six grant applications were received and reviewed against a stringent set of criteria to determine alignment with the mission and vision of Global Impact.

Announcing this year’s recipients, Global Impact President Renée S. Acosta commented, “Addressing the increasing humanitarian needs of people around the world requires new tactics. The Global Impact Accelerator Fund leverages the unique contributions of these organizations in order to achieve greater impact. We are delighted to support the spirit of collaboration.”
