Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area Announces 50th Anniversary Goal of $67.2 Million

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) Alexandria, VA - September 7, 2011 - The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) officially kicked off today with a Leadership Conference for more than 600 Federal government employees in Washington, D.C. The CFCNCA, managed by Global Impact, is the only authorized workplace charitable giving drive for employees in the Federal workplace.
“This year marks a half a century of giving from generous Federal employees,” said Linda Jacobs Washington, Chair of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee and keynote speaker at the Leadership Conference. “In the past 50 years, Federal employees raised nearly $7 billion spreading hope to every corner of the world. Today, people’s needs are greater than ever and every donation counts.” Campaign leaders announced the 2011 goal of $67.2 million to help people in local communities, across the nation and around the world. Last year, generous Federal civilian, military and postal employees raised a record-breaking $67 million for participating charities.The campaign, which runs from September 1 to December 15, supports participating local, national and international charities. More than 4,000 approved charities are in the 2011 CFCNCA and can be found in a searchable database at www.cfcnca.org or in the printed 2011 Catalog of Caring. Representatives from a broad spectrum of Federal government agencies and participating charities spoke today at the Leadership Conference sharing stories of inspiration made possible by the CFCNCA. Additionally, campaign volunteers engaged in training sessions to learn how to run a successful campaign at their own departments and agencies.
