CITGO Lemont Refinery Holds Supply Drive Benefitting Local Domestic Violence Shelters

TeamCITGO volunteers at the CITGO Lemont Refinery helped their community by holding a supply drive benefiting three local domestic violence shelters and the at-risk women and children they serve. Based on specific requests from the organizations, CITGO employees and contractors at the refinery, donated personal care products, clothing and household items for the Guardian Angel Community Services, Lamb’s Fold Women’s Center and Crisis Center for South Suburbia.

Timberland Partners with Thread to Look Beyond Sustainability and Toward Responsibility

Global outdoor lifestyle brand Timberland today announced a partnership with responsible fabric manufacturer Thread, furthering both brands’ longstanding commitment to environmental and social responsibility. Crafted from plastic bottles collected in Haiti and Honduras, Thread™ Ground to Good™ fabric challenges how the world thinks about recycled PET. Going beyond environmental sustainability, Thread also creates social value in the form of cleaner neighborhoods and job creation for thousands of people. The partnership – the largest to date for Thread – will bear its first fruit in spring 2017, with a collection of Timberland® footwear and bags made from Thread™ fabric.

Sharing My Skin Cancer Story

Telling people about my cancer diagnosis was not easy to do. At the time of my diagnosis, we were in a different world than we are today. I had some skin cancers that came up on the top of my forehead. I didn’t tell anyone about it. I didn’t tell family, parents, anybody else. I was a sophomore at the University of Texas playing golf. I didn’t talk to anybody because I was afraid I would lose my scholarship. I was afraid I would lose my opportunity to compete.
