The development model of the United States is deeply flawed because it is based on dominating people and the land instead of living in continuity with them. However, equitable redevelopment proffers an opportunity to find a just relationship with the places we find ourselves in. In Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood, the ILFI is working to build green space, initiate community gardens, and construct ecologically restorative buildings.
