Southwest Airlines Updates Reusable Car Seat and Stroller Bags
In 2013, Southwest’s Green Team, a group made up of Employees from across the Company, began the journey towards eliminating the environmentally wasteful plastic car seat/stroller bags. With the help of Employee and Customer feedback, the Green Team successfully created and tested an environmentally and wallet-friendly reusable car seat bag to sell at the ticket counter.
The durable, weather-resistant bags are only $15 and can fit a standard-sized stroller, car seat, and booster seat. The reusable car seat bags have been very successful since their debut.
In fact, we’ve sold more than 60,000 bags since we rolled out the product in late 2013!
Rather than spending money to produce and give away plastic bags for infant items, we have profited from selling the eco-friendly bags, which is great for our bottomline and helps to eliminate waste.
Recently, the bags were updated to be stronger, have a better zipper pull, and of course, feature Southwest’s bold new look! Our bags were featured on San Antonio Living’s ‘Summer Travel Finds segment on June 2. Thanks to our Employees for working hard to keep our business environmentally friendly while helping out Southwest’s bottomline. We look forward to the continuing success of our reusable car seat/stroller bags!
