Small Talk: Chevrolet’s Efficient Spark Reaches New Customers
We know that our customers – especially our younger buyers – are particularly interested in smaller cars. Be it the fuel efficiency, less impact on the environment or safety, our customers keep coming back for more.
In fact, early buyer data for the 2013 Chevrolet Spark shows that 29 percent of buyers are under 35, and more than half are coming from non-GM brands. Their main reasons for purchase include fuel economy (EPA-estimated 38 mpg highway) and price to value.
We understand people want an efficient, quality vehicle without having to sacrifice anything for it.
That’s why we designed the Spark to challenge what’s possible in the mini car segment. It’s the only car in its segment to provide MyLink Radio – a seven-inch color touch screen radio capable of displaying smartphone-based music, videos, photos and contacts for hands-free calling. And it features the segment’s lowest starting MSRP. While small on the outside, it has more passenger and cargo room than other minis, with 225 percent more cargo room than a Scion iQ and 20 percent more than a Fiat 500.
The 2014 model year will feature an electric version. Priced under $25,000 with tax incentives, the Spark EV will be available in California, Oregon, Canada, South Korea and other global markets.
