Responsible Forestry Takes Center-stage for FSC™ Friday
Tetra Pak is proud to be supporting FSC™ Friday again this year, a series of events around the world designed to celebrate and raise awareness about responsible forest management and the role FSC plays in it.
FSC is a global, not-for-profit organisation that helps take care of forests and the wildlife they support, while also enabling businesses and consumers to make informed choices about the forest products they buy.
According to FSC global consumer research, which recently surveyed over 9,000 respondents in 11 markets, consumers are becoming more sophisticated about environmental issues and are looking for more information on sustainable living and 'eco' alternatives.
This syncs up with Tetra Pak's own research across 12 countries surveying more than 6,000 consumers, showing that more than 39% of consumers look for sustainability logos when buying a product while 23% recognize the FSC logo. The research also shows that more than 60% of 241 influencers believe that the FSC logo makes their brand more meaningful to consumers.
It is evident from the above that awareness of environmentally-sound packaging is increasingly a driving factor within the beverage and food industry, and that consumers are tuned in to the environmental logos that appear on packaging.
That's why we encourage our customers to use the FSC label on their packages, assuring consumers that the paperboard used to produce them has been responsibly sourced. A number of our market companies, including those in Belarus, Central Asia, Indonesia, Portugal, Russia, and Thailand are engaged in local activities to celebrate FSC Friday in their countries.
The research also shows that more than 60% of influencers believe that the FSC logo makes their brand more meaningful to consumers.
