Renaissance Center Visitors and Workers Flock to GM Duck Demonstration

General Motors’ world headquarters, the Renaissance Center in Detroit, hosts a series of demonstrations and displays to educate employees on environmental topics.

As one of our 25 certified wildlife habitat programs, the Renaissance Center’s grasslands and proximity to the Detroit River allow many duck and bird species to call the grounds home, at least for part of the year.

Here GM Waste Reduction Manager John Bradburn showcased native ducks found throughout the area. John is an environmentalist at home and at work, and was the brainchild behind reusing scrap Chevrolet Volt battery covers as wood duck, bluebird and bat nesting boxes.

GM now has more than 500 of them installed throughout its operations and beyond.
