LA Galaxy Partners With TUDN and City of Torrance To Modernize Sports Facility
AEG’s LA Galaxy, in partnership with TUDN, the sports programming division of Univision, and the City of Torrance will collaborate to modernize a highly utilized sports and recreational facility at Charles H. Wilson Park in Torrance, CA. The newly renovated sports facility will allow futsal soccer to be added to the current multi-sport programming offered by the City of Torrance Community Service Department.
LA Galaxy mascot, Cozmo, and Tom Braun, Sr. Vice President, Soccer and Business Operations and Business Development, presented a check in the amount of $30,000 to Torrance Mayor Patrick J. Furey to help refurbish the Wilson Park Roller Rink. The upgraded Roller Rink will better support sports like adult roller hockey, adult and youth pickleball, youth basketball, camps, special events and much more.
“The LA Galaxy is proud to partner with TUDN and the City of Torrance to support the restoration of recreational facilities at Wilson Park,” said Thomas Braun, Senior Vice President, Soccer and Business Operations and Business Development at LA Galaxy. “The LA Galaxy is committed to providing quality sports spaces to the South Bay community and are thrilled to be able to help create a multi-purpose rink that will serve residents of Torrance.”
Since its opening in 1979, the 44.1-acre multiuse Charles H. Wilson sports park has served as a popular community space for Torrance residents. Wilson Park hosts several amenities for the neighborhood, such as sand volleyball courts, fitness equipment, outdoor amphitheater, batting cages and a splash pad.
