Kohler Co. Advocates for Scaling Safe Water and Sanitation Solutions Through Innovation and Partnerships at World Water Week
Annual Conference Focused on Tackling the World’s Greatest Water Challenges and Other Related Societal Issues
KOHLER, Wis., August 17, 2022 /3BL Media/ - Kohler Co., a global leader in the innovation and manufacture of plumbing products; tile, cabinetry and lighting; and engines, generators and clean energy solutions, joins this year’s World Water Week conference as a panel convenor to discuss how effective solutions to the global water crisis require commitment to both innovation and partnerships serving a social purpose. Through this approach, solutions can be implemented at scale to drive impact in water conservation, as well as access to safe water and sanitation for millions of people around the globe.
At this year’s conference, Kohler will highlight initiatives and partnerships that are making positive impacts on communities and lives around the world by focusing on increasing the access to safe water and reducing water use in products and operations:
- Kohler Innovation for Good is Kohler’s in-house incubator focused on creating new business opportunities with a social and environmental purpose.
- KOHLER Power Blending – ensures off-grid water stations – critical to health and disease prevention in poverty-stricken and refugee communities around the world – are continuously powered. The system monitors solar power and automatically transfers to generator power only when needed. Water Mission is a key partner in activating this solution in communities.
- KOHLER Pour-Flush Toilet – in partnership with Water Mission, this solution affords individuals the comfort and dignity of a seated sanitation solution. The flush is activated simply by pouring water into the bowl, making it ideal for communities without a waste management infrastructure.
- KOHLER Shower Relief Trailer – since its inauguration in 2018, the trailer has provided aid across the country in the wake of natural disasters and other crises, including the California wildfires, Hurricane Michael cleanup, and COVID-19 field hospital and is currently serving the unhoused in Los Angeles.
- Through its signature Safe Water for All program, Kohler partners with organizations to bring about meaningful innovation and change to communities who lack adequate access to clean water and safe sanitation.
- DigDeep – “Water is Life” program, a collaboration between Kohler and DigDeep, supports local community members and community groups who present innovative ideas to provide universal access to clean water and sanitation to the Navajo Nation through community-based service models or new technologies.
- Water Mission – Kohler and Water Mission partner to develop and pilot innovative solutions that focus on increasing access to safe water and sanitation
- Sanergy - focused on sustainable solutions for nonsewered sanitation, Sanergy and Kohler partner on the development of container-based sanitation solutions.
