How2Recycle Label Welcomes Ziploc® Brand to Growing List of Participants and Sponsorship Recipients
GreenBlue’s recycling label program continues to gain momentum in the marketplace with the addition of the Ziploc® Brand.
October 17, 2013 /3LB Media/ - The Ziploc® Brand is the newest addition to the Sustainable Packaging Coalition’s How2Recycle Label program, which now includes seventeen participating companies. Ziploc® Brand products are a well-known staple in consumer’s lives, and by using the How2Recycle label, Ziploc® is making it clear to consumers that sustainability is a priority for the brand.
“The How2Recycle Label was created as a way to reduce confusion among consumers about the recyclability of a package, and specifically with the Store Drop-off Label, to encourage retail collection of films,” said Anne Bedarf, Senior Manager with GreenBlue’s Sustainable Packaging Coalition. “With Ziploc® joining the program, we’re getting closer to our goal of getting the label on the majority of consumer goods by 2016, and increasing recycling.”
Ziploc® Brand bags can be recycled with plastic shopping bags and other films at over 15,000 participating store drop-off locations, a fact that may not be clear to many consumers. By using the How2Recycle Label, Ziploc® is helping reduce confusion surrounding recycling norms.
