Chevy Bolt EV Plant Ranks 8th Among Green Power Users
The General Motors Orion Assembly plant that builds the Chevrolet Bolt EV ranks as the eighth largest user of green power generated onsite in the United States among the Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Power Partnership Partners. Over half of the plant is powered by methane captured from decomposing trash in a nearby landfill.

Incentives Draw New York GM Plant to Install Solar Array
With 16 solar installations in the United States, General Motors takes the top spot among automakers for solar energy use in the nation. Its latest installation can be found at the company’s Rochester Operations plant in New York – a 466-kilowatt array expected to power 3 percent of the facility’s electricity.

GM Collaborates to Help Accelerate U.S. Electric Vehicle Adoption

General Motors joined a collaboration geared toward accelerating the deployment of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and putting more EVs on the road. The initiative is forged by the White House in partnership with Department of Energy and the Department of Transportation, the Airforce and the Army, and the Environmental Protection Agency. GM signed onto a set of Guiding Principles to Promote Electric Vehicles and Charging Infrastructure.

Animal Collective: Lots of Wildlife Species Call GM Lands Home   
The automobile industry helps animals in an unexpected way, as General Motors hosts 4,700 acres of wildlife habitats at 46 manufacturing sites across the globe. With the help of a partnership with the Wildlife Habitat Council, GM continues to launch certified sites that promote native wildlife and educate employees and communities about the environment.

2,500 GM Employees Volunteer in Detroit’s Cody Rouge Community
It’ll be all hands (and arms and legs) on deck when 2,500 General Motors employees return to Detroit’s Cody Rouge community to volunteer the week of Aug. 15. Employees will donate their time and talent to board up vacant homes, clean empty lots, spruce up streets and tackle other neighborhood and school improvements.
