At 18 years old, Chris Hefner took a restaurant job as a college student. And he’s never left.

Today, nearly 20 years later, the managing partner of LongHorn Steakhouse restaurant in Charlotte, NC, Chris values the camaraderie of his team and the excitement of a busy workplace that doesn’t tie him to a desk or computer.

"You can only do so much as an individual. But when you’re part of such a large team — your restaurant, region, division or even LongHorn Steakhouse as a whole — you can really make your mark." 

Chris is especially proud of the annual dinner he and his team host in Charlotte for breast cancer survivors and caregivers, an event made more meaningful by a team member who has successfully battled breast cancer. “It’s more than doing the right thing. We’re (also) helping out one of our own.”
