Building Sustainable Cities
Born out of our commitment to achieve maximum energy efficiency in our products and our operations, UTC supports programs that are Building Sustainable Cities across the globe.
U.S. Green Building Council’s Center for Green Schools. UTC’s multi-year, multi-million dollar commitment — allowing us to serve as the program’s Founding Sponsor — promotes the design and construction of green, energy-efficient K-12 schools, colleges and universities throughout the U.S.
American Architectural Foundation. UTC serves as the sole private-sector sponsor of the Mayors’ Institute for City Design, a series of urban design symposiums co-hosted by AAF, the National Endowment for the Arts and the United States Conference of Mayors. UTC also co-created the Sustainable Cities Design Academy (SCDA) to provide a platform for community leaders to engage in policy shaping and design decisions.
China Green Foundation. Through UTC’s support, the multi-year Greening the Future program is helping 100 impoverished families in Jingxiu County achieve sustainable development by planting 100,000 tea trees.
