Getting Kids Off On the Right Foot

With school back in session this month for millions of children across the country, getting started off on the right foot is paramount to their success in the classroom. Many in the 5-to-12 age range here in Knoxville, Tenn. – where we’re headquartered – will be doing just that thanks to the Knoxville Area Urban League and its Shoes for School program.

This past weekend, we were proud to partner with the KAUL for the 10th year in a row in the program. Shoes for School provides hundreds of needy children in the Knoxville area a pair of new sneakers. Those attending the event also stocked up on a bevy of school supplies handed out by the event’s more than 30 booth sponsors, including notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons…even cool-looking Scripps-branded pencil pouches.
