Making simple green choices delivers a positive impact on our society. Doing it 33 million times is to be applauded. Which is the case for DIRECTV as our distribution partner was honored with a 2012 “Innovative” Star of Energy Efficiency Award at last month’s Evening with the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards in Washington, D.C. On hand to present this year’s award to DIRECTV was Monica Pederson, host of HGTV Green Home and HGTV Smart Home.

An ENERGY STAR® partner since 2009, DIRECTV has earned the award three years in a row and is the only pay TV service to be honored by the EPA for its commitment to energy efficiency. Highlights of the company’s efforts include:
