Dedicated to championing the outstanding individuals in the hospitality industry and beyond, the Second Annual Bacardi Spirit Forward Women Empowerment Series, in partnership with PUNCH, wrapped up its 2019 season. Exploring timely topics such as representation, innovation, and disrupting the status quo, all through the lens of “originality,” the series featured a diverse group of voices from both inside and outside the hospitality world. Attendees from all parts of the bar, trade and media communities were treated to inspiring Q&A panels, professional workshops, engaging seminars, networking opportunities, in-depth discussions and more as the series traveled to Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.

The second annual Bacardi Spirit Forward Women Empowerment Series started out strong in Chicago earlier this month. A diverse crowd of attendees—from all walks of the hospitality trade and bar community— were treated to inspiring stories, engaging workshops, networking opportunities and in-depth discussions. Spirit Forward was created by the Bacardi Women in Leadership initiative, in partnership with PUNCH, to champion the outstanding individuals that make up the hospitality community, and to elevate them to their highest potential.

Creating an inclusive workplace is everyone’s job. That’s why Martin Voke, Vice President, Deputy General Counsel & Assistant Secretary for Bacardi North America, is raising awareness of women in leadership topics and has launched programs that engage male leaders in the diversity conversation. For his efforts, Martin was honored with a “Fostering Diversity and Inclusion Award” presented by Judicial Events, an organization that brings together leaders of the legal community. Martin received the award during the third annual CEO and General Counsel Gala held in Miami.
