Novartis Foundation Presents Healthcare Models and Disease Elimination Programs at ECTMIH

The Novartis Foundation and its partners will highlight progress towards transforming the health of the poorest populations at the 9th European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health (ECTMIH) held in Basel from September 6 – 10. Updates on nine Novartis Foundation-sponsored healthcare delivery models and disease elimination programs in low- and middle-income countries will be showcased in scientific sessions and sponsored-symposia.

Fox Searchlight's 'He Named Me Malala' Opens Telluride Film Festival

He Named Me Malala, Fox Searchlight's upcoming documentary about 18-year old Pakistani activist and Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, opened the 42nd Telluride Film Festival in Colorado on Friday, September 4, becoming the first ever documentary chosen as the festival's "Patron Preview," a first-anywhere screening that is open only to the festival's biggest supporters. Director Davis Guggenheim (Waiting for Superman, An Inconvenient Truth) was on hand to introduce the film and participate in a post-screening Q&A.

Toyota Establishes Collaborative Research Centers with MIT and Stanford to Accelerate Artificial Intelligence Research

The research and development of intelligent vehicle and mobility technologies will get a major boost in an ambitious new collaboration between Toyota, Stanford and MIT. At a press conference today, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced that it will be investing approximately $50 million over the next 5 years to establish joint research centers at each university.

GLAAD Commends FOX for "Excellent" LGBT Representation on TV

In its ninth annual Network Responsibility Report, the LGBT media advocacy organization GLAAD has commended FOX for its inclusion of LGBT characters in its programming, giving the network its highest grading of "Excellent." FOX had the highest percentage of LGBT-inclusive original programming hours out of all channels tracked, coming in at 45.4%. This is the highest percentage GLAAD has charted on a broadcast network since the NRI's inception.
