UPS Leads Cooperative Tree Planting Effort

A collective effort on Friday afternoon will make an area on the corner of Morgan Street and Barnwell Avenue a more beautiful place because a community cared.
The United Parcel Service partnered with Mead Hall, the Salvation Army and Town Place Suites in Aiken to plant 30 trees – 15 black gums and 15 Eastern redbuds.
The UPS Foundation has a mission to plant 1 million trees, and 30 of those were awarded to Aiken, said Simone Shepherd, UPS brokerage manager.
