UK Team Completes Pingpongathon to Support Children's Hospital
The Legg Mason UK Sales Team recently participated in another unique and successful event organized in support of CASCAID, a UK-based organization that is uniting asset managers around the cause of raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital, a children's hospital to help them build their new Cardiac Catheter theatre.
This year’s event was a 24-hour table tennis challenge (or “Pingpongathon”) where players participated in challenges and additional fundraising opportunities, including a cake sale, ice cream parlour and a yoga session.
-
Legg Mason raised nearly £20k and the overall campaign has raised over £400k for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
-
CASCAID’s 2017 campaign raised over £2.35 million for cancer research.
Justin Eede, Head of European and Americas Distribution, and Alex Barry, Head of UK Sales are Industry Ambassadors for CASCAID (out of 100). Justin shared his thoughts on the event:
“CASCAID is a groundbreaking initiative which brings together the UK fund industry to support worthy causes and is consistent with our mission of Investing to Improve Lives. We are once again delighted to support and make a meaningful contribution to the fundraising effort. Credit to the team for also donating one night of sleep to ensure the 24-hour Pingpongathon was a success!”
