TCS' Digital Empowers: Building Food Security
Food insecurity – a complex, multi-faceted issue – threatens over 2 billion people around the world. Digital tools and technology, when deployed intentionally and strategically, can support a range of personalized services for farmers such as agro advisory, best practices, alerts, weather forecasts, and supply chain management to farmers on their mobile phones. This allows farmers to minimize risk by understanding predictive analytics for crop acreage and yield, crop health, soil status, weather and pest forecasts, and resource quality assessment at their fingertips.
Understanding, scaling, and increasing accessibility to these solutions is the challenge. Without these tools, food insecurity will increase as the world’s population continues to rise. Food security will be achieved when all individuals, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe, nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences. Hear from Changing Tastes and Tata Consultancy Services on November 2, 2022, from 1:00–2:00 ET to learn how food security can be achieved.
