Supplier Bonnie Plants and The Home Depot Empower Gardeners to #DonateYourHarvest This Season

When the U.S. first began experiencing limited stock and empty grocery shelves brought on by the pandemic, Bonnie Plants – a supplier of the Bonnie Plants Harvest Select line found exclusively at The Home Depot – took action. Joining forces with AmpleHarvest.org, Bonnie Plants created the Grow More. Feed more. initiative inspiring gardeners to share their harvests and feed neighbors in need.
Now, two years later, the food pantries that gardeners have been donating to through Grow More. Feed more. are in need. Due to shrinking pantry budgets and inflation rates at a 40-year high, many families aren’t receiving enough food.
To help, Bonnie Plants is donating $250,000 to AmpleHarvest.org to connect America’s gardeners with local food pantries.
“Through this partnership with AmpleHarvest.org, our customers will not only be able to enjoy their harvest, but also make a difference in their local communities,” says The Home Depot's Division Merchandise Manager of Live Goods Dan Stuppiello. “It’s truly a win-win.”
When it’s time to harvest vegetables, gardeners can use AmpleHarvest.org to find the closest food pantry to donate their surplus produce and help eliminate hunger in their community.
Today, AmpleHarvest.org food pantries can be found in 4,200 communities in all 50 states. If you live near a Home Depot store, at least one AmpleHarvest.org food pantry is nearby.
