Sodexo’s Wellness Meals Make it Easy to B-Healthy at Binghamton University
B-Healthy Wellness Meals are one of the ways Binghamton University Dining Services is meeting Partnership for a Healthier America guidelines for college campuses
GAITHERSBURG, Md., April 27, 2016 /3BL Media/ - B-Healthy Wellness Meals created by Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Life Services, are helping Binghamton University reach its campus-wide wellness goals. B-Healthy is a Binghamton University initiative focused on the overall health and well-being of students, faculty and staff. Part of that focus is meeting the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) guidelines for college campuses.
B-Healthy Wellness Meals are delicious, balanced meals that include whole grains, fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy, and lean protein, all while meeting specific nutrition standards. Students can choose a B-Healthy Wellness Meal prepared by Sodexo in any dining center at breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monday through Friday, and at brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday.
“There are tremendous benefits to eating a balanced diet like increased energy, enhanced concentration and focus, improved immune function, mood and ability to manage stress,” said Alexa Schmidt, Sodexo Dietitian at Binghamton University. “Because we serve more than four million meals per year at Binghamton University, we can really make a difference when it comes to supporting the University’s goals to improve overall well-being on campus.”
Binghamton University was one of the first 20 colleges and universities throughout the country to adopt the PHA Healthier Campus Initiative aimed at making our nation's campuses healthier by adopting guidelines around food and nutrition, physical activity and programming.
As a PHA private sector partner, Sodexo is committed to engaging and motivating consumers to help make the healthy choice the easy choice through our innovative wellness programs.
