One of the best things about watching the 2010 Winter Olympics is seeing the athletes excel during competition. I especially love to watch snowboarders tear down the slopes while doing crazy flips and spins that would land me in a hospital. The same goes for the sport of skateboarding during the X Games, which is just like snowboarding, but without wheels and stylish kneepads. It’s always cool to see a skateboarder makes a successful run on the perfect ramp.
Speaking of perfect ramps, if you’re a true skateboard enthusiast then you may have attempted to build the perfect ramp on your own. If you have, then you know just how much material is needed for the skating space. You can go green while building your ramp by using the Skatelite OCC (Old Corrugated Cardboard) material from Richlite, a company that manufactures sustainable and organic paper-based fiber products.
What’s great about Skatelite OCC is that it’s made with a blend of 50% wood pulp and 50% recycled cardboard. Plus, the wood for the ramps comes only from certified managed forests in the U.S., and 98% of the harmful VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) created by the manufacturing of the material is captured and destroyed. Sounds like a great way to make skateboard ramps to me!

Don’t these ramps inspire you to hop on a skateboard and skate in the name of recycling? Okay, maybe you’re not that extreme, but at least you can enjoy watching other skateboarders support the green movement!
