National Environmental Education Foundation is Proud to Announce Samsung as a Corporate Sponsor
Sponsorship will advance Green STEM teaching and learning culminating in National Environmental Education Week 2014
WASHINGTON, May 2, 2013 /3BL Media/ – The National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) today announced Samsung as its partner in supporting a dynamic new learning space for educators and students with resources to advance Green STEM learning. Samsung will be the official national sponsor of National Environmental Education Week (EE Week) 2014, the nation’s largest celebration of environmental education.
EE Week is celebrated annually the week before Earth Day and aims to inspire environmental learning related to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects among K-12 students to help encourage them to find sustainable solutions to 21st century challenges. The multi-year theme extending into 2014 highlights Greening STEM efforts in classrooms and communities across the nation.
“How fabulous to be partnering with Samsung, a leading technology company that understands the importance of STEM education and the doors it can open for today’s students,” said Diane Wood, President of NEEF. “Greening STEM is a great way to support young people in learning key skills while improving the environment in their own communities, especially by creating sustainable solutions to 21st century environmental challenges. With Samsung’s support, EE Week's reach will extend further to millions of students and educators across the United States.”
“As a company committed to raising enthusiasm for STEM education, Samsung hopes that our support of NEEF’s programming throughout the year helps steer the national dialogue to focus on the importance of fostering students’ interest in these key subject areas,” said David Steel, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics North America. “NEEF makes learning about STEM subjects accessible and interesting for students, and helps demonstrate how they can positively impact the environment and our communities.”
Since its inception in 2005, EE Week has delivered educators free, non-biased, high-quality, environmental materials grounded in accurate, timely scientific information and tied to local, state and national learning standards. These resources help teachers across the country develop meaningful and effective hands-on learning experiences in STEM subjects. To learn more about EE Week, visit eeweek.org.

Since 2002, Samsung Electronics America and its retail and business partners have helped more than 500 schools, community-based foundations, and charities throughout the U.S. raise awareness of and funding for their causes.
