Nancy Rigby Promoted to President of Cox Foundations
Cox Enterprises today announced that Nancy Rigby has been promoted to president of Cox Foundations, effective immediately. She will continue reporting to Jim Kennedy, chairman of Cox Enterprises.
“Under Nancy’s leadership, the Cox Foundation reinforces our company’s long history of being a good corporate citizen through giving,” said Kennedy. “Her insights have elevated our philanthropic impact in the areas of conservation, early childhood education, empowerment and health. Nancy’s expertise is creating local models that are being successfully replicated across the nation. She has helped our foundation not only respond to grant requests, but also to partner with non-profits to develop innovative projects which have great impact. Now, more than ever, we are committed to making a difference by helping people and communities where we do business.”
Rigby joined the organization in 2012 as vice president, Cox Foundations. She oversees the business management and administration of foundation operations. Under her leadership, the James M. Cox Foundation has contributed more than $75 million in Atlanta alone. The grants are expanding access to trails, parks and greenspace, as well as providing healthcare organizations with funding to reinvent patient experiences. Cox’s involvement in early childhood education is helping narrow the 30-million-word gap and preparing children for success, which ultimately leads to better communities and economies.
Rigby previously served as vice president of an Atlanta consulting firm where she counseled non-profit organizations on strategic direction for fundraising, leadership and organizational sustainability.
