Momentum is Building Around Building Materials Transparency

Building professionals are descending on Philadelphia this week for the U.S. Green Building Council's annual conference, Greenbuild.  With its workshops, presentations and celebrities like Bon Jovi giving a concert, it is described as the largest green building conference and expo in the world. But aside from all the hype, there is a clear message at the conference that momentum is building around materials transparency in the building world.

One of the main recent concerns in the building process is the disclosure of products used that have impacts on human health and the life cycle of the structure.  Companies that are pursuing full disclosure should look for socially and environmentally responsible materials as well as sourcing where the raw material come from.
