Merck EBRGs Receive Diversity Best Practices Awards for Their Impact on the Community and Workplace
Merck is honored that two of their Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs) were recently recognized by Diversity Best Practices for the work they do to drive diversity, equity and inclusion within the company and the communities in which we live and work. The U.S. chapters of the League of Employees of African Descent (LEAD) and the Next Gen Network (NGN) each won a Diversity Best Practices: 2020 Above and Beyond award.
The Above and Beyond awards are awarded to groups who demonstrate exceptional performance in delivering a significant contribution to the communities in which their organizations do business. Recipients establish best practices in leveraging their diversity and inclusion to drive impact and/or improvement in the community’s well-being. LEAD received the Community Impact Award, and NGN received the Workforce Impact Award. Diversity Best Practices presents the awards to employee groups and individuals who have made a significant and measurable impact on corporate culture, business results and society.
“Now more than ever, Employee Resource Groups are playing a significant role in influencing inclusion strategies, impacting businesses’ bottom lines, and shaping corporate culture. In fact, research shows companies that keep diversity and inclusion front and center on their corporate agendas fare better during financial and social crises", says Deborah Munster, vice president of Diversity Best Practices. "I’m proud to recognize these companies that are leading the way and inspiring us with Above and Beyond Awards.”
