Kohler Co. Takes Center Stage With Sustainability and Safe Water for All
Global kitchen and bath leader leveraged the recent IBS and KBIS tradeshows to raise awareness around important water challenges
KOHLER, Wis., February 21, 2022 /3BL Media/ - At this year's Design Construction Week – the combination of International Builders’ Show (IBS) and Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) –Kohler Co. utilized its award-winning booth space as well as the exhibit of its partner, Global Water Center, to further highlight the ongoing issues surrounding access to safe water and the importance of getting involved in positive change, both on the individual and corporate level.
Within KBIS, Kohler’s booth hosted a variety of programming, including a panel discussion moderated by Chip Wade, designer and TV host and featuring George Greene III, PE, Ph.D., Water Mission’s Co-founder and Executive Chair, George Greene IV, PE, Water Mission’s CEO and President, Ratish Namboothiry, Kohler’s Director of Innovation for Good and Sustainability and Cindy Howley, Director of Kohler Stewardship. The Water Mission team discussed the global water crisis and the non-profit organization’s work and passion for building safe water, sanitation and hygiene solutions around the world. The Kohler duo elaborated on the company’s Believing in Better platform, as well as the environmental sustainability and community stewardship initiatives Kohler is spearheading. These include Kohler Safe Water for All, which focuses on the need for more and easier access to clean, safe water for everyone around the world; Innovation for Good, a program that helps to address pressing global social and environmental challenges through innovative solutions, including Kohler’s WasteLAB which explores how to convert waste into products; and Kohler’s Relief Showering Trailer that travels the country to provide clean showers where needed including frontline pandemic workers in New York, unhoused people in Los Angeles and communities recovering from tragic weather events.
Outside of the convention halls, Kohler collaborated with the Global Water Center to bring its expansive, educational Mobile Discovery Center (MDC) onsite to increase awareness and encourage action to address the global water crisis. Spanning more than 25,000 square feet of exhibit space, the MDC’s experiential journey educates visitors of all ages about the world’s critical water issues and motivates guests to become advocates for safe water. This experience also tells the vibrant stories of water in the world, which are shown through highly visual mediums, including augmented reality, an immersive 360-degree theater, interactive content, and RFID technology.
