(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) Madison, WI – February 8, 2010 – Leonardo Academy announces the appointment of Jeff Dean to the Sustainable Gaming Standards Committee. Jeff, a Senior Professional in Supply Management, is the Purchasing Manager for Kah-Nee-Ta High Desert Resort and Casino, an enterprise of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.

Jeff is a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and has worked in the hotel industry as well as being a Vice President of Operations for several food companies.  Besides being the Purchasing Manager, Jeff is also Kah-Nee-Ta’s contract writer, head of the Green Team, works on the tribal grant group, and the newly formed WS Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy group.  Jeff has taken his care for the environment with him to every company he has worked for since leaving the Navy in 1998 and is especially interested in alternative power, power conservation and fuel efficiency/emissions.  Since starting with the tribe in 2008, Jeff has centralized the purchasing operations for Kah-Nee-Ta, started the Green Team and recycling program and just finished a large lighting retrofit that will save over 300,000 kWh per year.  His goals for this year are to work on reducing power consumption, starting green purchasing policy initiatives and working with the tribe on several alternative energy projects, including solar and geothermal.

Applications are still being accepted for additional openings on the Committee, within the Environmentalist and User Interest Categories. Any individual or representative of an organization that 1) focuses on preserving the environment (especially those with experience in energy efficiency), or 2) uses goods (casino and cruise ship operators, end users), and is interested in participating in a national dialogue on sustainable gaming standards, is encouraged to apply.
