Ingersoll Rand Collects Illustrious Awards in Two Categories from North Carolina Chapter of U.S. Green Building Council
The company received honors for demonstrating innovative performance solutions and systematic integration of sustainability standards
DAVIDSON, N.C., September 24, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Ingersoll Rand, a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, received top honors from the North Carolina Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC NC) Friday at the Council’s annual Green Gala in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ingersoll Rand earned recognition in two out of seven categories, including the Thomas Edison Award and the Talking Walls Award for small commercial buildings.
The Thomas Edison Award applauds companies for demonstrating innovative performance or transferable solutions, and the Talking Walls Award recognizes companies for systematic integration of sustainability standards into buildings and building projects.

The company earned the Thomas Edison Award for its bold Climate Commitment and the initiatives already underway to achieve the Commitment, including the introduction of its EcoWise portfolio of products designed to lower environmental impact with next generation refrigerants and high efficiency operation.
In September 2014, Ingersoll Rand publicly declared its Climate Commitment to achieve a 50 percent reduction in greenhouse gas refrigerant footprint of our products by 2020; make a $500 million investment in product-related research and development over the next five years to fund the long-term reduction of GHG emissions; and a 35 percent reduction in greenhouse gas footprint of our own operations by 2020.

Ingersoll Rand also earned the Talking Walls Award for small commercial buildings for the retrofit of a 30-year-old building on the campus of its North American headquarters in Davidson, North Carolina. Once completed later this year, the 76,320 square foot facility will seek LEED Gold certification, yield a 29 percent energy savings and a more than 42 percent water savings.
