GM, Herman Miller and Green Standards RePurpose Program Sizzles

GM is redesigning its work environment at several locations, resulting in tens of thousands of pieces of excess furniture, equipment, and supplies.

The company has partnered with Herman Miller and Green Standards to repurpose its surplus office assets into $1 million of in-kind donations over the next two years. The first example is refurbishing three rooms at Detroit's Cody High School to enhance the educational learning experience of students and faculty. The new multipurpose and parent/teacher spaces will include repurposed furniture and equipment from GM along with painting, drywall repair, floor refinishing, among other projects. 

The Herman Miller rePurpose Program, managed by environmental firm Green Standards, manages such surplus corporate assets through resale, recycling and donation. For more information and to register, visit repurpose.gm.green.
