Cotton Made in Africa Presents "Faces of Africa" Exhibition in Hamburg
Deichtorhallen Hamburg announces Albert Watson exhibition
(3BL Media / theCSRFeed) January 18, 2012 - Deichtorhallen Hamburg announced the official exhibition programme for 2012 at its annual press conference on Thursday, January 12. In addition to an exhibition on Saul Leiter, expositions from Antony Gormley “Horizon Field Hamburg” and Wim Wenders “Places, strange and quiet“, "Albert Watson - Visions and Memories feat. Faces of Africa" will be the museum's most important project.
The exhibition "Albert Watson - Visions and Memories feat. Faces of Africa" will be on display September 14 2012 to January 6 2013 in the House of Photography. Along with a representative showing of Albert Watson's work that includes previously unpublished material, it will also feature new pictures by the famous photographer. At the beginning of December 2011, Mr. Watson travelled on behalf of the Aid by Trade Foundation to Benin for two weeks to photograph smallholder farmers who work with Cotton made in Africa (CmiA). The images shine a spotlight on the people behind CmiA, providing insight into their lives, and to help communicate a better understanding of the initiative's work.
