Today we celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Designated by the United Nations General Assembly, the day is an opportunity to promote full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls, and advance gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
At Pentair, we believe an inclusive and diverse workforce contributes different perspectives and new ideas that enable us to improve every day. Women bring unique perspectives to our decision-making process, problem solving capabilities and overall leadership competencies. From designing innovative and IoT connected products to helping ensure our manufacturing sites are operating safely and efficiently, women engineers and scientists throughout Pentair contribute daily to our mission to deliver smart, sustainable solutions that empower our customers to make the most of life’s essential resources.
We work to encourage the empowerment of women and girls within Pentair and the greater community. The Pentair Women’s Resource Group was founded to contribute to the development and advancement of women at Pentair through a supportive and collaborative global community sharing experience and ideas. Through the Pentair Foundation, we support educational programming with a specific emphasis on STEM education as well as increasing access to educational opportunities for underserved communities in developing countries, especially for women and girls.
Through these efforts, we are committed to take away obstacles along the path to help women reach their full potential. To learn more about International Day of Women and Girls in Science, click here.
