Launched in 2014, the Institute for Corporate Social Responsibility was designed by—and for—those in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) field as a practical, interactive, and affordable professional development opportunity for CSR practitioners.
The Institute for CSR, now in its fifth year, was designed by and for the CSR field as a practical, interactive, and affordable professional development opportunity. Over the course of four, two-day sessions, participants learn from some of the field’s most innovative thinkers, authors, and practitioners and expand their professional networks learning alongside CSR peers from across the country.

The Institute for Corporate Social Responsibility recently celebrated the graduation of their fourth class. Since the launch of the Institute in 2014, the program has attracted CSR professionals from around the region and across the country. Recently, we have seen interest from the international community. Sunday Kubba Hassan with Central Bank of Nigeria is the first international graduate from the Institute. Below, Sunday reflects on why his company decided to send him to the Institute and how he has used the knowledge he gained since graduating in 2016.

Why did you choose to participate in the Institute for Corporate Social Responsibility and what year did you graduate?
The Institute for CSR was an incredible opportunity to learn from industry leaders – like Tim McClimon from American Express and Diane Melley from IBM – as well as network and learn from my peers in the field. I was part of the inaugural class (2014) and learned a great deal.
