“Power On!” celebration held to honor Cadillac dealers’ funding for the more than 5,300 pediatric patients its donation will support over the next year
PITTSBURGH, PA, October 2, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Cadillac Metropolitan Pittsburgh Dealer Advertising Association has partnered with CBS EcoMedia Inc. through its WellnessAd advertising to fund 11 Starlight Tablets for three Pittsburgh hospitals: Allegheny General Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh.
A ceremonial “Power On!” event kicked off the program in style on Wednesday. The celebration was held at Olive or Twist, with attendees including representatives from all western Pennsylvania Cadillac Dealers, executives of Starlight Children’s Foundation and hospital representatives. Hosts included: Paul Polizzotto, President and Founder of CBS EcoMedia; Steve Siwy, District Sales Manager of Baierl Cadillac; Judith Christian, Executive Director, Starlight Children’s Foundation MidAtlantic; and Rebecca Aune, Director of Program Development, Starlight Children's Foundation MidAtlantic. Hospital representatives included Allegheny General Hospital: Drew Keys, Corporate Vice President Fund Development, Robert Guthrie, Pediatric Chair, Debbie Ziegler, R.N.; Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC: Andrea Kunicky, Coordinator, Media Relations, Beth Moneck, Child Life Specialist, Colleen O’Connor, Child Life Specialist; The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh: Deborah Desjardins, Director of Development, and Kathy Krause, Institutional Advancement Coordinator. Special guests included Starlight child Hannah and family members James and Naomi.
Prior to the “Power On!” celebration, Cadillac Dealers and Judith Christian and Rebecca Aune from Starlight toured Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC to witness how the Starlight Tablets are impacting pediatric patients and their families, and how Starlight is helping to improve the life and health of kids and families in the Pittsburgh area.
Cadillac Dealers’ financial support delivered four Starlight Tablets to Allegheny General Hospital, four to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and three to The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh. Combined, the 11 Starlight Tablets will serve more than 5,300 pediatric patients per year.
