Arby’s Raises $77,000 to Relieve Hunger in Canada Through Project: Everyone Eats
In-Store Fundraiser Benefits Food Banks Canada
ATLANTA, January 5, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Arby’s® restaurants across the country raised $77,000 in just five weeks to help end hunger in Canada. Arby’s Canada restaurants have contributed nearly $170,000 to Food Banks Canada since 2013.
From September 11 until October 16, 2014, Arby’s teamed up with guests to collect donations for Food Banks Canada in support of its mission to relieve hunger in Canada every day. Guests were encouraged to donate $1 or more to show their support, and received a pin-up card to sign and display on the walls of their local restaurant. Arby’s restaurants also donated 15% of daily sales on September 11 and October 16 to help increase funds raised.
“We are so pleased to continue this relationship with Arby’s and grateful for this significant donation,” says Katharine Schmidt, executive director, Food Banks Canada. “The support of Arby’s, their staff and their guests is making a difference in the lives of the nearly 850,000 Canadians who are helped by a food bank each month.”
This promotion is part of an overall joint effort to raise awareness around the issue of hunger in Canada and to fulfill Food Banks Canada’s vision of a Canada where no one goes hungry.
