AECOM’s Safety, Health and Environment program wins Gold and Silver 2013 International Business Awards
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26, 2013 /3BL Media/ — AECOM Technology Corporation, a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for public and private clients in more than 140 countries around the world, announced today that it has won two 2013 International Business Awards (IBAs) in the Health, Safety and Environment Program of the Year category, which recognizes organizations' successful implementation of policies to prevent workplace accidents and injuries, increase safety awareness, and meet the requirements of environmental and occupational health and safety laws. AECOM was awarded the Gold IBA for Asia, Australia and New Zealand and the Silver IBA for Canada and the U.S.
The awards reflect AECOM’s commitment to maintaining a healthy, vibrant workplace by adopting measures that minimize risk and ensure that the company protects and preserves its facilities, property, environment and, most importantly, its people. As part of AECOM’s global Safety, Health and Environment (SH&E) program, the company recently unveiled its “Safety for Life” initiative that provides employees with online training and management system assessments, regular communications (including videos, safety bulletins and posters), an interactive mobile application, access to enterprise-wide safe work method statements and an incentive reward card which recognizes and rewards proactive safety behavior.

Established in 2003 to recognize business excellence, the IBAs are the world's only international, all-encompassing business awards program. Gold, Silver and Bronze IBA winners were selected from more than 3,300 nominations from 50 nations and territories, and will be honored on Oct. 14 in Barcelona, Spain. This was the first year the IBA offered a Health, Safety and Environment Program of the Year category.
