AECOM wins Communitas Award for Corporate Social Responsibility
AECOM's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program was recently named a Communitas Award winner for excellence in CSR.
The Communitas Awards is an international effort that recognizes the spirit of people coming together for the good of the community. Winners are acknowledged for giving themselves and their resources, and for changing the way business is done to benefit communities.
“This award serves as a testament to our employees around the world who constantly give of themselves in supporting CSR efforts through volunteerism and pro-bono work while serving our clients,” said Dr. Emma Felipe, director, sustainability. “Across AECOM, there are many compelling CSR stories to tell, and our program highlights some of the best in our people and communities.”
Communitas nominees are evaluated based on the extent and effectiveness of their programs. AECOM was recognized for specific programs involving volunteerism, philanthropy and ethical, sustainable business practices.
During 2013, AECOM employee and company donations to charitable and philanthropic organizations globally totaled more than US$5.1 million.
