NeoCon Exhibitors Announced Living Product Certifications

Five different manufacturers are celebrating 10 Living Product certifications at NeoCon 2018, bringing the total number of Living Product certifications to 20. The Living Product Challenge (LPC) was launched in 2014 by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) to inspire manufacturers to pursue ambitious goals to dematerialize and detoxify their products and ultimately go beyond doing ‘less bad’ to create positive health and environmental impacts.

FCA US Mopar Parts Distribution Center Honored With Prestigious LEED Gold Environmental Award

The FCA US LLC Mopar Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Romulus, Michigan, has been honored with the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold award for achieving excellence in green building standards. Administered by the United States Green Building Council, the PDC is the fourth FCA US facility to receive the elite designation.

Holly Emerson and Owen Smith Honored as Environmental Leaders

Environmental Leader magazine recently recognized two of the people behind Ingersoll Rand’s environmental efforts – Holly Emerson, senior sustainability analyst, and Owen Smith, director of utility and grid solutions – as top Environmental Leaders in the U.S. The magazine created the distinction to recognize 75 people in the environmental space responsible for driving their companies and the industry forward.

Shire Facility in Georgia Wins Green Building Award

Shire's Georgia manufacturing facility near Covington has been nationally recognized as a green building for its energy and water efficiency and the healthy building practices that were incorporated into its design. The facility received three Green Globes from the Green Building Initiative, a nonprofit organization with a nationally recognized green rating assessment, guidance and certification program that seeks to promote best practices in sustainable design, construction, and building operations.

FCA Windsor Assembly Plant Receives Energy Conservation Leadership Award

FCA’s Windsor Assembly Plant (WAP) has won a Canadian Industry Partnership for Energy Conservation (CIPEC) Leadership Award. The recognition comes for key Process and Technology Improvements from a plant initiative that resulted in an approximate 30 per cent annual energy savings of existing chilled water system and reduced Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions equivalent to almost 21 homes’ energy use per annum.

CSRHub and The National Wildlife Federation Announce Partnership

National Grid Earns EEI Emergency Assistance Award and Emergency Recovery Award for Restoration Efforts Across U.S.

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) today presented National Grid with the EEI Emergency Assistance Award and the EEI Emergency Recovery Award for its outstanding power restoration efforts after Winter Storm Riley, Winter Storm Quinn, and a severe wind and ice storm that impacted New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island in October 2017, March 2018, and April 2018.
