Restoration of Ecosystem Along American River Receives Support from EcoMedia’s EcoAd Program
EcoAd Fundin Made Possible by Sacramento County, Byers’ Leaf Guard, Bell Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning and California Ford Dealers Provide Gap Funding to Support Planting of Oak Trees Along a Portion of American River That Was Destroyed by Fire Last
(3BL Media) September 29, 2011 - Sacramento – EcoMedia, CBS 13, Sacramento County and the American River Parkway Foundation today celebrated the restoration of the ecosystem along the American River, an environmental project funded in part by the participation of Sacramento County, Byers’ Leaf Guard, Bell Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning and California Ford Dealers in EcoMedia’s EcoAd program.
EcoAd grants made possible by these CBS 13 advertisers provided gap funding to support the planting of more than 70 oak trees in four groves, including River Bend grove, located along the American River. The restoration project also includes the planting of native vegetation in the tree groves’ understory.
EcoMedia, through its partnership with Sacramento County, helped to fund this project through a collaborative effort with the American River Parkway Foundation, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting the preservation, protection, enhancement and appreciation of the American River Parkway by fostering environmental stewardship, facilitating volunteer opportunities and funding and implementing Parkway projects and programs.
Participants in today’s ribbon cutting event included Susan Peters, Supervisor, District 3, Sacramento County Board of Supervisors; Dianna Poggetto, Executive Director, American River Parkway Foundation; Paul Polizzotto, President & Founder, EcoMedia; Rob Leonard, Administrator of Municipal Services & Acting Parks Director, Sacramento County; Ray Byers, Sr., owner, Byers’ Leaf Guard; Christine Udasco, Bell Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning; and Mike Mellow, Future Ford of Roseville, on behalf of California Ford Dealers.
The EcoAd provides advertisers such as Sacramento County, Byers’ Leaf Guard, Bell Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning and California Ford Dealers with the option of purchasing media that will deliver added value beyond traditional advertising. With the purchase of every EcoAd package, a portion of the dollars spent goes directly toward funding environmental and clean energy projects, all of which have been identified by local municipalities and public entities as being critical, yet under-funded. EcoAd advertising packages are available across all CBS platforms, including network, local television, radio, outdoor and online.
All EcoAds feature the EcoAd leaf which is a visible indicator that the brand is sponsoring important, local environmental projects such as solar installations, energy efficiency retrofits or the ‘greening’ of schools, affordable housing and municipal buildings.
“The restoration and revitalization of the ecosystem along the American River in one of Sacramento County’s oldest and most treasured parks is one of many environmental projects across the country that is being supported through our EcoAd program,” said Polizzotto. “We thank Sacramento County, Byers’ Leaf Guard, Bell Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning and California Ford Dealers for being among the first advertisers in Northern California to embrace the EcoAd. They should be considered role models for other businesses that are looking for ways to improve the quality of life in the communities they serve.”
